I saw this image along time ago on interior designer Abigail Ahern’s website, but it wasn’t until I stumbled across it on Sfgirlbybay with the tag line - “In my dreams, I live here: A Cabin in Vermont” that I realised how much I loved it! Ok, Ok, so I’m probably on my own here, but I really like this! It conjures up an image of a old, well loved and worn house with creaky stairs and battered walls. It has a little bit of soul and that’s why I like it. So many of our interiors today are clean, contemporary and lacking in identity. I’m sure I post a few of those types of images on here, but for the most part I try to post things which have an identity. I like a bit of soul :)

Hallway porn…..love the glimpse of dark.

I have this current obsession with dark and sultry rooms! I literally want to paint everything in a charcoal grey or deep navy or even black! We tend to always layer lights and brights on one another, but I think that layering darks on darks is the way forward.
