This weekend is going to be spent moving into my new rental flat! I’m excited about making it homely and organising all my things. Yep, I’m a geek.

Last night while scanning my regular blogs I came across this. This little lump of lusciousness belongs to Cassandra Karinsky, founder and owner of Kulchi. Clearly this lady has a gift. The rest of the apartment is styled just as beautifully as this. For someone who is sick to death of the house hunt, it’s nice to see something that inspires you to keep looking for that perfect space!

How fun is this?? I love that Sputnik chandelier. I regularly trawl sites like 1st Dibs and Vintage & Modern looking at these beauties. Personally I love the really busy starburst or floral style ones. One day I will get my hands on some!

So I’m still house hunting. Yes 10 months later. I have to admit - I thought I’d love it, but oh how wrong was I. It’s stressful and whats more is that it feels like I’m competing with the rest of the world for the same house! Which, in honesty, isn’t even worth it. However, the benefits to looking for this long are beginning to show. I’ve realised what I can and cannot compromise on. It’s different for every person, but for me a bedroom with space is a must. Some see it as a luxury - I mean you only sleep there right? but I actually spend a decent amount of time in my bedroom. I guess it’s my escape, and the space (when tidy) helps me to mentally organise my life. Even if it is mostly subconscious. What are the most important spaces to you? What compromises would you make?

When my head is cluttered the last thing I want is to come home to a cluttered room. This would be perfect for those particularly hectic days. Love the inset of patterned tile.

Looks like a Crux blanket but I don’t think it is? This is so simple but very effective. Clean, contemporary but has a hint of originality and period features.

Peaceful. That is what I need right now. I’m off home to the Caribbean for 10 days for a childhood friends wedding. It couldn’t be better timed. Time for some much needed R&R.

I’m loving graphic heavy, patterns floors at the moment. It’s a brave move but so good if done right. This serene bedroom also captures my desire of having a bath in the bedroom!

Eclectic moroccan?? That pendant chandelier reminds me of the 85 Lamps chandelier, although clearly this one is different. Anyone know where this one is from??

I’m drawn to the colour palette in this pic…..I mean, I’m not a fan of the headboard or the brown fur but together with the purple, pink, charcoal - the mix of textures and finishes - there is something really appealing in an eclectic way.

Awesome contrast of dark floors and white walls. Bring the colour in through art and furniture. Classic.

Having had a busy week and not much sleep, I intend to spend a little quality time with this guy :) Love you bed :)

Map headboard anyone? I’m always dubious about map walls and headboards - They can look so good but can equally go soooo wrong. I love it here because it’s simple and clean looking. Wallpapered.com do custom local maps as well as world maps!
