It’s the weekend!! This week has been a blur and I’m looking forward to taking things a little slower. I’m going to declutter my house (which actually sounds pretty stressful - Woosaaaaa, just breathe) but I’m aiming to have a minimal, clear space like the hallway above. It’s a perfect blank canvas.

Sometimes the lines between what’s real and not real can get a little blurred, much like this picture. What you say? It’s just a picture of a unkempt bed! Yes it is but it’s not real. It’s a very good 3D rendering or visual. As in - none of it is real. The whhhole thing is fabricated. For the most part I can still (just about) pic out these sneaky 3D visuals but they are getting harder and harder to identify. I’ll admit it, I was fooled by this one. For more of these impressive visuals check out Juraj Talcik.

Sunday Funday! and today I’m especially excited because this image is brought to you by my good friend Kristina Johansson. I featured her previous place here, here and here and you may even recognise it from this January’s Elle Decoration Sweden (it made the cover). Anyway whilst having coffee in bed this morning and browsing through my blog list I came across this! My clever friend has done it again and what good job she’s done. I’m loving the pink ceiling!

Valentines day smalintines day. Thank goodness that’s over. Not that I subscribe to the vday madness - I just can’t understand all the fuss? and I don’t believe that openly projecting your affections one day a year is enough. It’s not a competition people, it’s the little things that count. Do I sound bitter? Naaaaa I choose to look at it as grounded :) Anyhoooo!! moving forward, I’m choosing to filter my love into my interiors. I’m off to an auction house today to view all the goodies. *Sigh* there is no love greater than the sound of the hammer “winning” you that piece you have absolutely no use for. Perfect!

TGIF. No seriously. TGIF. I’m looking forward to a weekend of friends and DIY, which speaking of the later, I have also come to a conclusion that after painting 2/3rds of my living room back to white I do in fact miss the dark grey. Doh. It’s odd but the bright white make it feel smaller in a way and at night it’s quite garish! So as of this coming weekend I’ll be testing out some darker colours. I’m thinking deep deep navy’s and off blacks. Very exciting!

Bit of Blue for you today. I need some brightness in my life as I’m trying to wrap my head around designing some kiddie rooms. This is of course way too grown up and structured, but the colour is inspiring and I secretly like the ceiling light. It’s called the Vertigo light and I actually think it would be great for a kids room as it has a theatrical whimsicalness about it, like some giant mad hatters hat.

How insane are the original features in this place?! They are such a dominant force in this Milanese apartment but the owners have managed to masterfully mix them with eclectic contemporary pieces creating a truly unique space. Not sure if I could live there but I’d love to have a go at designing the space!

Well. After the last two seemingly unpopular posts I’m trying something cleaner & less cluttered. Plus, mentally I need a something lighter to look at and I’m a sucker for exposed painted brick. Good little ensemble.

With the weather being pretty disgusting here in the UK I’ve been day dreaming of a little weekend away. Somewhere new where the weather might be equally disgusting but at least it’s out of London…..If only I could spend the weekend here at L’Hôtel du Marc, a beautiful mansion house belonging to the Veuve Clicquot Estate. Alas - unfortunately it isn’t actually a hotel as such and is only open to those in the business, but if it does ever let us riff raff in I most definitely will be 1st in line to stay. It is so eclectic and beautifully designed I’ve been drooling over every image. Perhaps I need a career change…..

A bit of bright to start off your weekend. I’m really liking the dark floors in this image. They ground the room and the ceiling details make it. It’s the little things like that that often make a room and everything else is just an added bonus.

Interior Designer. Images I collect which I love. It might only be a part of an image, a single object or the composition, but each has something that I am drawn to.
