The one thing I’m struggling to figure out in my house is a dining area. The flat is large for London standards but the way it’s configured means I have to compromise on comfort somewhere if I want everything (something I’m in complete denial about!). As much as I’d love a whole room as my dining area, I think that’s perhaps a bit greedy….. I think the solution is to incorporate it into the kitchen somehow - by way of a counter/bar or perhaps island. Watch this space. I’ll make sure to post pictures when it’s done.

And over on the Design Files this morning was a feature on one of my favourite Interior Stylists, Sibella Court. I feel like Sibella and I should most definitely be friends (not in a creepy way….and should we ever meet ). Quite simply we share an appreciation for all things curious and obscure. She is a collector, a beach comber, a hunter - like me. You’ll know what I mean if this applies to you and you won’t understand it if it doesn’t. Oh Sibella, please be my friend, or at least take me to all your treasure finding locations!

Now that I’m back from my mini break (Boooo!) it’s time to start thinking about really getting the renovations started. Pulled some stuff out of storage to try and wade through all the crap sort it out…… It’s amazing how you forget what you have and how exciting it is rediscovering it all!

I’m back! Back in London, Back to reality and bring you this little snapshot - the latest venture of Kate Arends of Wit & Delight. Probably one of my favourite blogs. Arends has set out with five other creatives to start a collaborative workspace called The COMN. I have to say I’m just green with envy. Being a creative person, it’s great to surround yourself with other creatives because you bounce off each other & inspire each other, but it can be very hard if you work on your own to keep up that momentum. I look forward to watching The COMN grow and develop. Good luck!

It’s my last day here at home, Booooo!. It’s ok though because I’m back in August for a Wedding which will be amazing. Having a few days R&R is exactly what I needed - to recharge the mind & soul you know? Going to miss this place though!

The one thing I love about coming home (besides seeing family & catching up with friends of course) is how inspired I feel. Spending days beach combing and riffling through all my old stuff, taking photos of palm trees (a lot of photos of palm trees…..) and generally feeling good about life!

What an entrance! Loving the monochromatic scheme with brass accents. It’s very refined and elegant. Very grown up. The pendant light is by Flos and the floor light looks like a Michael Anastassiades but I suspect it’s actually vintage. Works for me.

It’s been a very lazy morning here at The Kentish Townhouse (my name for my reno project) but that’s what Sunday’s are for right?

Good morning World! So happy it’s the weekend! I LOVE this image above. It’s an old one but I never tire of it. It makes me want to go out and hunt! - which I will be doing next week in the Caribbean (jealous much?). I’m due for a quick trip home and I’m sooo excited. I have so many treasures at home, like above, that I’ve collected over the years and I’m thinking it’s about time I shipped them to London. It’s all part of my master plan Muahahaha! Watch this space!

Another pic of that fab kitchen. Chevron floors, grey plastered walls and lets not forget the marble. Ummmm. Could it get any better? Yes with me - me in it. That would make it better.

I love the simplicity of this shot. It’s minimalist and graphic but not unfriendly like minimalism can sometimes feel. The mosaic floor is a curious choice? Not sure I would have gone in that direction, but I like the contrast in texture to the very clean sharp walls.

Ummmm Marble. I have a slight obsession with marbles at the moment. I love the movement it can have as seen in the example above. It can add drama where you want to see it or be understated where you don’t. In a kitchen, a bathroom or as accent pieces and furniture, it has an aesthetic quality that is almost unrivalled by other materials (in my opinion - apart from perhaps woods). Big fan right here. Big fan.

Luscious deep navy’s and pale greys. If you find yourself wanting to revamp a space quickly then try painting it. Paper Paint Library do a fantastic range - look at their new colours called Felt l - V and Salt l - V. Perfect for your skirting, architraves and walls.

Interior Designer raised in the Caribbean and transplanted in London. These are images I collect which I love. It might only be a part of an image, a single object or the composition, but each has something that I am drawn to.
